SHARE Energy
Solar energy is fast becoming the option of choice for homeowners and businesses alike. Renewable solar energy is pollution free and low-maintenance, and it is an attractive alternative to using nonrenewable fossil fuels. Nationwide, space heating accounts for about 50% of annual building energy consumption; our solar air heating systems offer a significant percentage of a building’s winter heating needs. Solar air systems provide space heat by re-circulating conditioned building air through one or more solar collectors.
Solar energy presents a viable alternative to fossil fuels that is both environmentally sound and socially empowering. Solar Hot Air RE-newable Energy (SHARE Energy) is a 501 (C)(3) non-profit grassroots organization that pairs social activism with solar energy. In our commitment to bring solar heat to low-income households, we provide clean solar heating systems to qualifying families through our unique Solar Assistance Program.
In order for solar energy to be widely embraced, it must be available to people of all income levels. However, renewable energy remains out of reach for many lower income households. That’s where SHARE Energy comes in. We funnel all profits from the sale of Solar Powered Furnaces and market-rate installation of new solar systems into our Solar Assistance Program, thereby contributing to self-reliance, sustainable living, reduction of air pollution, and the alleviation of rural poverty. Quite simply, at SHARE Energy, we believe we have the power to make a difference.
While solar air heating systems typically have no thermal storage, by providing nearly all of the heat load when solar resource is at peak, a system can be sized to offset up to 30% of a building’s heat load.
